DENAM's Participation in Turkey's 3rd Maritime Summit

At the 3rd Maritime Summit of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Can Balas have represented DENAM by chairing the session titled "Future Vision of Coastal Facility Infrastructure in Turkish Maritime Trade."

Organized by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, the 3rd Maritime Summit of Turkey was held on July 2, 2024, at Tersane Istanbul. During the summit, Prof. Dr. Can Elmar BALAS, a member of DENAM's Advisory Board, chaired the session titled "Future Vision of Coastal Facility Infrastructure in Turkish Maritime Trade."

Session Participants:

1. Dr. Yalçın EYİGÜN, General Manager of Infrastructure Investments

2. Salih TAN, General Manager of Shipyards and Coastal Structures

3. Hamdi ERÇELİK, President of the Turkish Port Operators Association (TÜRKLİM)

4. Ali AVCI, Chairman of the Board of CEYPORT

5. Uygun DEĞİRMENCİ, General Manager of SOCAR Terminal

6. Birol ÜNER, Member of the Board of the Turkish Shipbuilders' Association (GİSBİR)

During the session, a wide range of topics were discussed, including the current state and future vision of coastal facilities in our country, the bureaucracy's approach to current issues, the privatization process, and the problems of coastal facilities. After the session, Prof. Dr. Can Elmar BALAS was presented with a plaque of appreciation by Burak AYKAN, Director General of the European Union and Foreign Relations.
