The unit's social contribution policy, the management of the unit's social contribution processes, and its organizational structure have been institutionalized. The management and organizational structure of the social contribution processes are in alignment with the institution's social contribution policy, and job descriptions have been defined. The functionality of the structure is monitored, and improvements are implemented accordingly. The results of projects conducted at the center are shared with relevant stakeholders through workshops or seminars. Necessary collaborations are made to ensure that the models developed through the projects carried out at the center serve as Geographic Information System-based tools for public institutions, local administrations, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector's marine and water sciences management systems. Our center holds significant recognition for "Sustainable Management of Water Resources" for our country, which is surrounded by seas on three sides and consists of 26 water basins. Seminars with broad participation are organized throughout the year.
The center engages in social contribution activities that can respond to the needs of society and the environment, aligned with the sustainable management of surface and groundwater bodies and sustainable development goals, creating value. Institutional collaborations at national and international levels, as well as collaborations with various public institutions and organizations, are monitored and improved through educational, service, research, seminar, consultancy, and other social contribution activities. The organized online seminars have been made accessible through Gazi University's YouTube channel.
The Kaş Environmental Issues Panel was held on February 10-11, 2024, with the participation of Prof. Dr. Lale BALAS, the Director of the Marine and Aquatic Sciences Application and Research Center (DENAM). During the Kaş Environmental and Cultural Association’s Environmental Issues Panel held in Kaş on February 10-11, environmental and planning issues, as well as developments related to the divided road project, were discussed. On the second day of the event, February 11, the first session focused on marine pollution in Kaş. The speakers in this section included:

As part of the social responsibility project "Life Energy from the Seas" organized by the Marine and Aquatic Sciences Application and Research Center (DENAM), Prof. Dr. Can Elmar BALAS, a member of the DENAM Advisory Board, gave a presentation titled "Life in the Seas" at the Ihlamur Konağı Nursing Home and Elderly Care Center. During the presentation, Prof. Dr. BALAS explained the seas of our country and the types of marine life to our esteemed elders and answered their questions. The event, conducted in an interactive format, was very enjoyable, and our elders followed the presentation with great interest. After the presentation, the officials from Ihlamur Konağı Nursing Home and Elderly Care Center thanked Prof. Dr. Can BALAS for his presentation and the information he shared, expressing their desire to have him meet with our esteemed elders again in a future event.
