As part of community awareness activities, a presentation titled “Life with the Sea, Life in the Sea” was delivered to the 8th grade students at Mimar Sinan Middle School on 9 December 2024.

Within the scope of these activities organized by the Marine and Aquatic Sciences Application and Research Center (DENAM), the presentation was given by DENAM Deputy Director Prof. Dr. Asu İnan. During the presentation, Prof. Dr. İnan introduced our seas, explained the impacts of climate change on marine environments, and discussed the causes and consequences of marine pollution. She also responded to questions posed by the students, making the event highly interactive and engaging.

Following the presentation, the Principal of Mimar Sinan Middle School, Mr. Sedat Dağdelen, thanked Prof. Dr. Asu İnan for her valuable contribution and presented her with a plaque. He also expressed the school’s wish to host another event in the future and to bring our faculty member together with their students again. In addition, Mr. Sedat Dağdelen presented a plaque prepared in appreciation of the organizational contributions—on behalf of DENAM Director Prof. Dr. Lale Balas—to Prof. Dr. Can Balas, a member of the DENAM Advisory Board.
